Gigantic Move from Kazakhstan to the Middle East:
Recently Globalink
Atyrau made headlines when they handled a major
construction equipment relocation from Atyrau,
Kazakhstan to the Middle East. More then 100
machines weighing upto 5000 tons were imported into
Kazakhstan in 2003-2004 for use at the Karabatan
Site in Western Kazakhstan. It only seemed fitting
that Globalink handle their massive re-export as we
were the company to transport it to Kazakhstan in
the first place.
Some of the equipment
weighed upto 50 tons each and over-dimensional sizes
had to be accommodated at each logistical step from
start to finish. Some of the super oversized
equipment had to be dismantled to reduce the overall
dimensions to meet strict railroad compliance. A
full block train was chartered to move the machines
from the Atyrau to the Black Sea port of Mareupol,
Ukraine, with the further long journey by a special
project vessel.
Handling a project
shipment such as this is never an easy task. Despite
the fact that the process remains the same, each
project has its own individuality and a “one
approach for all” style never works. At Globalink,
our solution is built around the needs of the
customer. Our educated and skilled staff knows
exactly what is needed and required from the
planning stage right upto the final loading, lashing
and shipping stage. From origin to destination,
these excavators were never in finer hands. We
delivered them as promised – right on time.
