Baku Night
Recently, sir Elton
John played to a packed concert in Baku,
Azerbaijan. Thoroughly enjoyed by all the lucky
concert goers, a little known fact (until now) was
that had it not been for Globalink, such a
wonderful night of excitement could have been
missed.
Globalink Baku had
the highly challenging task and responsibility of
ensuring that the singers instruments, concert
related items such as props, etc reach from the
airport to the concert venue well in advance as
timing was everything. In short, it was an
enormous responsibility and a race against the
clock. The charter craft carrying Sir Eltons
equipment arrived at Baku airport late Saturday
evening with the concert scheduled for the
following night, customs clearance 13 tones of the
equipment and that too on a weekend, was certainly
a daunting task but as always Globalink Baku rose
to the challenge. The equipment was cleared the
same night (as arrival) and trucked to the concert
site so that the stage could be setup. As expected
the concert was a huge success and as soon as the
concert was over, Globalink was back in action to
pack up all the equipment. Timing was everything
as the shipment had to be packed and delivered to
the airport and all customs formalities completed
so that loading onto the outbound charter
departing for the UK at 9:00am the following
morning could be done.
Handling theses
arrangements, which were incredibly time
sensitive, would not have been possible with out
the experienced, dedicated and professional staff
at Baku. They really had to work hard to make it
happen - and they DID!
